FAQ's
How long have you been in the industry for?
I started in 2008 so 14 years in the industry and many more years ahead - love what I do!
How far in advance do I need to book?
I take on weddings/group bookings up to 18 months ahead and single clients within 3 months. Note that although I do get booked up quite far in advance, every day is different so even if the date is coming up close, don't hesitate to contact me in case I have availability.
Do you only do weddings?
No, I do hair and makeup for all occasions however weddings are my specialty and will always take priority.
For bigger groups, I end up doing makeup only for weddings due to timing and I can recommend other artists to come do hair.
Do you have an assistant?
As an assistant, no. Assistants usually start by prepping the skin or cleaning brushes and anyone that knows we could tell you I'm a major perfectionist and honestly can't quite trust another artist to do work under my name (and I give my brush babies a full soapy clean when i get home) however I do work with a lot of other wonderful artists and usually have them come help me on jobs, taking a few faces on so the timing is quicker. I can help recommend and put you in touch with a few.
How long does it take?
As a guide, makeup can take about an hour and hair a little less however can differ depending on the style and length. I usually leave about 1.5-2hours for both hair and makeup as a safe time.
If I want something more natural or my hair is shorter is the price the same?
Unfortunately no, same as if you were to go to a restaurant that had a set menu and ate less. For me it is much simpler to have it all the same. Even if the makeup is simple i still spend the time on skincare and making sure everything is perfect, same with hair.
Do you come to me or do I come to a studio?
I am completely mobile so I will come to you, wherever you are. Unfortunately i do not have an at home studio but having hair and makeup done in the comfort of your own home will make you feel like a superstar I promise :)
Why is the Bride more than the rest?
So many factors which include, timing on the day for the most part, making sure everything is absolutely perfect but also note that for weddings I can be back and forth emailing for months on end, helping with advice in the meantime, stay back on the day of the wedding to make sure everyone is good to go with touch ups or help in any way - honestly it should be a lot more than the $30 difference!
Will my makeup last all day?
I do as best as I can and use long-wearing products to ensure the best longevity for the day. Makeup will soften overtime and lips will need to be reapplied and potentially powder as well. Then it comes down to skin type, weather and activity, face touching etc for the longevity. If your skin is oily and it's a humid day and you're dancing the night away and rubbing the sweat off your face, then chances are yes the makeup will start come off. For me personally, I take my lipstick and sometimes a concealer for a long day to touch up.
You are out of my budget, can you negotiate.
No unfortunately not. My rates match up to my experience and the high demand and I do not adjust my prices. If I am out of your budget, there are other makeup artists with less experience that will offer a lower price.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Yes, travel fees further than 10km from me are always added. Note that if you are 30 minutes away from me, that's 1 hour total travel time and I could fit in another makeup in that hour so yes you're paying for my time.
How do I book?
I take all my bookings via email (or sending a message through the contact me page of my website). I usually respond within 1-2 working days so if you haven't heard back from me please get in touch via social media.
I'm a mum with 2 toddlers and I dedicate time in the day to respond to you all so I do not take phone call bookings and only give out my mobile once booked and you can text me if there are any issues on the lead up to the event.
Do i need to make a deposit to secure the booking?
Yes I take 20% deposits to secure the booking, this includes single bookings as well as groups. Please note that unless a deposit has been made, the booking isn't in my calendar.
Deposits are non refundable and non transferrable.
Once you have secured a spot I start knocking back other clients for your booked spot which is why this is so important.
I've never had my makeup done before and am a little nervous...
Well you've come to the right artist! I assure you I will 100% listen to you!!
I am a perfectionist myself and very thorough with everything I do and happy to go through each and every detail of makeup to ensure you still feel comfortable in your own skin.

Can you work with hair or lash extensions?
Yes of course! I have to say I'm a little obsessed with clip in hair extensions for thickness and longevity and always happy to add them in. Please let me know in case we need to add extra time to the booking.
For lash extensions, if you are wanting them for the event, honestly theres no need as I'll put on individuals anyway. I also prefer the lashes I use over the look of lash extensions but thats personal preference.
